Using Eco-Coral™

With Eco-Coral™ damaged reefs may be restored
existing reefs may be expanded and new reefs created where none existed before!

When we are asked to assess a reef project we initiate a process to determine all factors involved.

  • An underwater bottom survey of the target area by divers and sonar and GPS.
  • Analysis of the water quality and any infeeds to the area.
  • Study of tidal movements and bottom motion.
  • If existing reef, assessment of damage and volume of marine life.
  • For a new reef assessment of the current marine flora and fauna.
  • From the site assessment the reef is modelled in our computers.
  • The required expansion and remediation is added to the model.
  • The model is rendered into a 3-d representation for approval by the client organisation.
  • The costs and timings for the project are determined.

How we build Eco-Coral™ reef modules

All our molds were taken from real, but dead, corals.
The molds are created by expert craftsmen to capture every detail of the real coral.

The molds are filled with a proprietary formulation of cementious and pyroclastic materials which completely simulate the structures of natural corals, in a meticulously controlled process.
When the corals are removed from the molds they are cleaned and then finally decorated by artists using special food grade coloring.
All coral units are hollow with access holes for small marine creatures.

At the deployment site the units are loaded onto the deployment vessel.
The reef units are launched from the vessel.
Divers receive the reef units, detatch them from the launch cable and guide them to their position on the sea bed.

Whether it is coral reef restoration, coral reef expansion or building a new coral reef only Eco-Coral™ delivers beautiful, authentic and totally eco-safe results.
